Introducing Token TLDR: a tool that uses quantitative and qualitative value modeling ( a systems engineering process) to score tokens.

KEEP IN MIND: This tools scores based off my personal assumptions. It is NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE or an inducement to make any sort of an investment.

First things first, How did I build it?

1) I chose my most important metrics to me, when evaluating any token. (Volume, Inflation, etc)

2) I assigned weights to the most & least important metrics.

3) I created functions to score these tokens.

How does this calculator work? It's simple.

1) I input data on a token.

2) This tool calculates a score.

Sound nerdy?

However, it's time to see it in action with our very first TOKEN TLDR!

TOKEN: Optimism $OP

Read to the end for the final score!

Utility: 9/10

Utility is tricky to measure. This tool uses 24 hour trading volume as a proxy measurement The more people trade a token the more they believe it has some form of utility. OP has a respectable trading volume with $51M traded in a single day and earns a 9/10 in this category.

Inflation: 7.4/10

25% of OP's max supply is scheduled for emission over the next 4 years per Token Unlocks.com. There is also a large gap between OP's circulating supply and max supply, indicating more unlocks in the future. For these two reasons, this tool calculated a score of 7.4/10 for OP.

Roadmap: 10/10

OP has one of the best roadmaps due to adoption of the OP stack. More adoption = More revenue for OP Treasury. 5 chains are already in testnet and 6 more plan to adopt it. These include opBNB from Binance, Base, and Manta Network. Yes, this category required my subjective judgment and not raw data. I scored OP 10/10, without question.

Decentralization: 6.4/10

With 1.5B tokens allocated to VCs and core contributors, there are individuals that could have significant influence on future governance. For this reason, OP received a score of 6.4 in this category.

Vulnerabilities: 10/10

OP received a 100/100 score on DeDotFi with a detailed analysis on why it received this score. Needless to say, it scored 10/10 in this category.

Popularity: 3.6/10

OP has over 90k daily active addresses. This is one of the highest among L2s. However, it still has a lot of room to grow and receives a score of 3.6/10. I expect this to change in a bull market.

Potential to 100x: 1/10

OP has a MCAP/TVL ratio of 1.6. Does this mean it could never 100x? Of course not. However, OP is not a small cap meme coin. It's a well known token with a high market cap. 1/10.

VC/Team Dumping: 7.5/10

Just over 1B OP token are scheduled to unlock to VC and team members. However, these unlocks are linearly vested over 45 months. Taking this into account, the tool gave a 7.5 for OP.

FINAL SCORE: 7.2/10

Closing thoughts: While unlocks and token allocations slightly lowered its score, OP has a strong road map and generated noticeable utility as an L2. 7.2/10.

What does a 7.2 mean?

Not much, yet! However, I will continue to score more and more tokens each week for comparison.
